Who is Afraid of the Dark?

Michael Grady, a friend of mine, and others brought my attention to a site in which a video clip shows Obama promising and telling Planned Parenthood that they will no longer be on the defensive in regards to abortion, but will now counter attack the pro-lifers. He said that the first thing he will do as president is to put into effect the so called Freedom of Choice Act in which the question of abortion will be settled once and for all (http://www.wikio.co.uk/video/510133). I have never seen such an arrogant fool in my life as this Asian raised clown. Who on earth does he think he is? Does he truly believe that he will make of abortion a lasting and established institution of American society?
What this dancing shadow on a stage of human history doesn't realize is who he is going up against. We pro-lifers have the best of the fight in our favor. For one thing, God is on our side and all those who have fought against God lost miserably in their attempts to beat Him. Like Pharaoh of old, Obama himself will be drowned in the waters of Divine wrath. God has never lost a battle and never will. In second place, we have the powerful Virgin Mary, all the angels and saints to intercede for our victory. Is Obama counting on his atheism and the devil to give him power to win? He will be overthrown and cast into hell along with that demon. Third, we have reason and right on our side since we defend legitimate human life. Obama will be known in history as one of the greatest liars and inventor of falsehoods and this notoriety will be carried by him forever with shame and disgrace. Fourth, our mission to save human life is a most noble and urgent one while that of continuing the murder of millions of babies is the most criminal and greatest act of cowardice on the part of an intelligent man like Obama. Fifth, the promise of the triumph of Mary s Immaculate Heart will mean the end of over 35 years of demonic rule in America and nightmare horrors of the killing of untold numbers of defenceless children. Obama has no such promise that abortions will last forever. He might guarantee abortion during his administration, but that will be of a short period, since God will be swift to act in His justice. How many years did Hitler last? It was not more than two decades. If Obama has in mind to have abortion last as long as our country will, then God will make sure to destroy and end our country in order to rid it of abortion, unless of course, we were to wise up as a nation and get rid of child murder before it is too late.
The Russian ships are doing military manoeuvres in Venezuelan waters. What is their business on our side of the world? Where is Bush or Obama to tell them to immediately get out like Kennedy had the admirable courage to do when they brought their missiles to Cuba? If I lived on the coast of our Southern States, I would get out as quickly as possible. The nuclear missiles in the Russian submarines are not caps of pop guns. Yet, there they are cruising around in our Caribbean sea, a few miles off our shores.
If Obama thinks that the pro-lifers will not counter attack to his counter attack, then he does not realize the strength of God s grace and glory. I know that the American hierarchy is practically worthless and extremely weak (like the same one of Nazi Germany that also hailed Hitler into power), but God has his 7,000 who have not bent their knees to Baal. There are many strong Catholics, as well as non-Catholics, ready to shed their blood and be martyrs for the defence of the unborn. Mary, at Fatima, predicted that the good (not the Catholics) would be martyred in our times. If Obama wants to put more saints on our calendar, then let him glorify God in this way. On his part, he will go down in history in the long line of cruel tyrants like Herod, Nero, Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung who tortured and killed Christians for defending human rights and dignity. If Obama does not truly convert himself and stop being a false Christian or Moslem, he will burn forever in hell for his terrible sins. Neither Christians nor Moslems admit or accept the horrible practice of abortion. Come on Obama, come on with your henchmen and henchwomen, Kennedy, Clinton, etc and all their power, wealth and fame against the pro-life movement and you will be surprised as to what you will meet up with. The blood you shed in this nation will be the one that will cry out from the earth to condemn you forever.

This was in the Black Canyon of Gunnison, Colorado and the picture was on the front page of the Grand Junction , Colorado newspaper. Many of us today may just feel like the driver of this pick-up truck after the recent elections …
Look at the picture above and you can see where this guy broke through the guardrail on the right side of the picture where the people are standing on the road (pointing).
The pick-up was travelling from the right to the left when it crashed through the guardrail.
It flipped end-over-end, across the culvert outlet, and landed right side up on the left side of the culvert, facing the opposite direction from which he was travelling. The driver was alright after the accident.

If this guy didn't believe in God before, do you suppose he believes now?

Dear friends,
What can I say? We did our best! I think we received the answer to the question that I sent to you a few days ago. “Do most Americans want GOD to BUTT OUT?” (http://god-politics.blogspot.com/). I think we now see that the answer is a clear, resounding YES! I personally did not realize how many pro-death laws were being voted into existence in this last election. If I had known I might have been overcome with despair. The election of a pro-death president is only one sign and symbol of how our culture has embraced the culture of death. I think the article “What If?” at Mark Mallett's Blog (11/05/08) is rather interesting (http://www.oltiv.org/2008/11/mark-malletts-blog-110508.html).
We prayed and we fasted, and now we can eat like King David after his son died (2Sam 12:20)! Where do we go from here? I know some people who feel that the only thing left to do is to clean out the cobwebs in our old bunkers we made during the Cuban crisis almost 50 years ago and get prepared. But I think we must above all trust God, pray much, love God and our neighbor completely and offer continual sacrifices as Our Lady of Fatima asked us to do in 1917. I think we should also always continue to seek the TRUTH, to live the TRUTH and to fight for the TRUTH even if the greater and greater majority of human beings on the face of the earth are running from the TRUTH, abandoning the TRUTH and fighting against the TRUTH. Jesus said: “I am the way, and the TRUTH, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me” (Jn 14:6)!
I believe, as many many others do also, that we are about to enter the period of which Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13, as well as what the Mother of God was referring to at La Salette, France (1846); Fatima, Portugal (1917); St. Faustina (1925-1938; Diary 635,1732); Akita, Japan (1973 – 1981; http://www.miraclerosarymission.org/akita.htm); and more recently Margaret of Jesus (1985-???; http://www.margheritadigesu.it/pagine/microchipeng.html; these articles and revelations are slowly being translated from the Italian into English). It is interesting that in the past Our Lady has always indicated that by prayer and penance we can still avert the looming chastisement. But very recently in the revelations to Margaret of Jesus, she said the chastisement can no longer be averted and that it will occur “not in the distant future” or after our life time as so many of us want to believe. I prefer to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, even if the truth is often very difficult for me to understand or hard to accept from my own personal point of view.
Few people today understand or want to understand what sin is. Very few Catholics go to confession anymore. If we do not ask for mercy, we will not receive mercy. Without mercy, there is no way to enter heaven for all eternity. I am a big sinner; I go to confession every day. God will leave us to our own designs, which is what most people want today.
I have amused myself in the past many years by studying prophecy in the Bible and in the writings of the Saints. In a few weeks I hope to share with you a summary of my findings (http://markbeast.blogspot.com/). In the mean time may I very briefly indicate to you a little of what I have come up with.
If you know even a little about the history of the world, the powerful have never been satisfied with the power that they have or had acquired. They always wanted more. Many of the super powerful and past dictators of the world even arrived to the point of wanting to be adored as GOD (Heil Hitler!)! I do not think that anything has changed. The superrich and powerful of today who control the banks and the petroleum and so many other things of the world are not satisfied; they have had an incredible amount of patience, many of them never living to see their final goal achieved. They now have their representatives (puppets) in just about all the key positions in the world except one. From my studies I am convinced that the last key position that they need before they make their greatest move in the history of the world is the Papacy of the Catholic Church. In their pride and arrogance, they feel they are the saviors of the world, even though this same pride renders them blind to the fact that they have become the puppets of Satan. Also in their pride, they are dumbfounded and amazed that with all their tremendous efforts they have not yet been able to put their man in as Pope. Obviously they do not believe in God or in the words of Jesus that “the gates of hell shall not prevail” (Mt 16:18). But I am convinced that now that they have their men in the key positions in the world, they can no longer wait to try to get their man elected Pope and will thus take over the Papacy by cunning and covert violence.
Saint Hildegard, Archbishop Fulton Sheen, the eminent, 20th Century scripture scholar, Father E. Sylvester Berry and many others have indicated that this violence will be done by an evil cardinal and he will then proclaim to the world that he is the Pope. According to the prophecies of St. Hildegard, two thirds of the Christians will believe and follow this evil imposter. St. Hildegard wrote that this will happen immediately before the manifestation of the Antichrist, who together with this false pope, who I believe will be the “second beast” of the Apocalypse (ch. 13 etc.), will subdue the world. A very recent private revelation to Margaret of Jesus indicates the same thing; I am slowly translating some of her writings from Italian into English (http://www.margheritadigesu.it/pagine/microchipeng.html). These events are also indicated by the prophecies of St. Malachy regarding the sequence of Popes. The antichrist will be far more ingenious, resourceful and charismatic than the recently elected president of the USA (http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/nov/081103a.html). Thus I do not feel the greatest show on earth will begin until our present Pope Benedict XVI dies or is clandestinely killed.
I think we are living in great times! I pray every day for the incredible gift of martyrdom. Do you know that the martyrs do not spend any time in purgatory which is far more painful than any kind of martyrdom here on earth (http://purgatory-manu.blogspot.com/)? A great many people will be offered the possibility of martyrdom in this period. Alleluia! Will each of us be ready for this great offer and gift?

Do most Americans want GOD to BUTT OUT?
Do most Americans want GOD to BUTT OUT?
As Christians (myself as a Catholic), what is important in the upcoming elections? What are the priorities involved? Both candidates say they are Christian. Both candidates say they promote a “Culture of Life”! Obviously no candidate has ever been perfect. The only perfect man who ever walked the face of the earth was crucified by all of us sinners 2000 years ago. So how can we discern properly in this complicated, confusing and critical point, in the history of our country?
One of the presidential candidates and his followers say they promote a culture of life by helping the poor which will help, as they say, to diminish abortions. At the same time their presidential candidate says that before all other problems to tackle: "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the “Freedom of Choice Act”. That's the first thing that I'd do." -- Senator Barack Obama, speaking to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, July 17, 2007 (http://www.nrlc.org/foca/index.html).
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council explains: "If FOCA were to become law it would overturn hundreds of state laws that have put limits on abortion.". Perkins points to a new research paper written by FRC Vice President of Government Affairs, Tom McClusky, and he said Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other pro-abortion groups agree with this assessment. The ACLU has said, "This [FOCA] bill prohibits such restrictions as parental notification and consent, as well as the requirement that all abortions be performed in a hospital, spousal consent, waiting periods, etc" (http://www.lifenews.com/nat4070.html).
What is really going on here? They say that by allowing abortion, without any restrictions, we will help the poor so that the number of abortions will decrease!?*!? I do not quite understand the logic here! Is this the way to help the poorest of the poor who do not have any way to defend themselves? Does not Sacred Scripture tell us that the strong should use their strength to help the weak? Does the taking of innocent lives justify helping other people to overcome poverty? Is this the way God would do it or want it? “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Mt 25:40)!
The Catholic Church has always taught that the “ends” do not justify the “means”. In other words, one cannot justify or rationalize committing a sin in order to arrive at a “good end” or a “greater good”. This would be the same as telling God to BUTT OUT while we commit a horrendous crime so that we can achieve a greater good, according to our “wise” human criteria and judgment, as if God is not able to bring about good without our sin! “I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes” (Mt 11:25).
The other candidate is certainly not perfect. I too am very saddened and appalled at the greater and greater apathy and disregard by the better-off citizens of the richer countries of the world toward the poor and those most in need of our help and assistance. I too am against the war in Iraq with all of its consequences. I too was in total agreement with Pope John Paul II when he urged and pleaded with President Bush to not begin the war in Iraq several years ago. But now that the war is already going on, would it be prudent to pull out the US troops before the Iraqi people can defend themselves considering the volatile state of the region with Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda in the neighborhood? Pope Benedict XVI as a Cardinal was a staunch critic of the U.S. led invasion of Iraq. On one occasion before the war, he was asked whether it would be just. "Certainly not," he said, and explained that the situation led him to conclude that "the damage would be greater than the values one hopes to save." At the present time, with the invasion already decided (since March 18, 2003), the soldiers in Iraq are trying to protect and defend innocent lives; abortion is directly taking the lives of innocent, defenseless, helpless unborn human beings!
“The Church has always taught that a "hierarchy of values" exists, which means not all political issues are of equal value”, said Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn. His remarks drew on the U.S. bishops' 2007 document, "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility." (http://www.americancatholic.org/news/newsreport.aspx?id=62).
Before the 2004 US elections, then-Cardinal Ratzinger wrote to the US bishops to remind them that "While the Church exhorts civil authorities to seek peace, not war, and to exercise discretion and mercy in imposing punishment on criminals, it may still be permissible to take up arms to repel an aggressor or to have recourse to capital punishment. There may be a legitimate diversity of opinion even among Catholics about waging war and applying the death penalty, but not however with regard to abortion and euthanasia." (See Exodus 20:23, 21:14, Luke 3:14, 7:1-10, 23:39-43, and Romans 13:4, and Catechism of The Catholic Church 2265 and 2267.)
Someone wrote to me and told me that “the effects of the church’s narrow anti-abortion efforts” are hurting the pro-life cause and that “I happen to believe we need to come to people in love not with threats.” This person referred me to an article by the National Catholic Reporter: “Bishops narrow anti-abortion effort hurts pro-life cause”!!! But the 40 to 50 million babies that we have slaughtered in the USA since 1973, do we come to them “IN LOVE”??? Do the ends justify the means as the above article indicates??? Are there no "hierarchy of values"??? Has “ABORTION” become only something “political” or something without any reference to what abortion actually is? Have we become so callused and cold in spirit and estranged from reality and LIFE that it is OK to kill millions of babies for the “pro-life cause”!?*!? What kind of “strong delusion” is this so that they “believe what is false” (2Thess 2:11)?
Do we want to hear only what we want to hear, and what we decide to hear and believe, without any reference to the whole of Scripture and to our guide to interpret Scripture properly, the Church that Christ left us with the “Rock” as the head? The words of Jesus in the Gospels are very strong if we read them as they are written without picking and choosing only the verses that we like and that are comfortable to us! Do we want only a God who is all loving and merciful without considering His Infinite Justice? Do we want love for ourselves and our loved ones while forgetting the weakest in our society that are more than ever, in our modern affluent society, considered a “burden” to avoid or to eliminate, instead of considering them as a GIFT, a REAL PRESENCE of Jesus Himself? We say God is merciful but do we even go to confession to ask for His mercy? “Ask and you shall receive”, but if we do not ask…? God is totally, and eternally, respectful of our fundamental God-given gift of our free will; we were created in His image (Gen 1:26)! If we do not ask for mercy, we will not receive mercy! And without mercy, there is no way to arrive to heaven for all eternity! Have we forgotten that all that we have, including our very existence, friends, family, intelligence, capability to have relationships, a beautiful day, even a good thought … all come from a God who loves each of us immensely to the point of sending His only Son to die on the cross for our manifold and blind and presumptuous egoism? Imagine how much pain and sorrow there would be if a person that you loved deeply and to whom you did everything possible for, and then this person decided to totally ignore and disregard you and even despise you! Do we think that we are able to fathom how much Jesus suffered on the cross, crucified and forsakened and infinitely sensitive, due to the indifference of innumerable men and women, in all times and places, who do (and did) not want anything to do with their Creator who loves each of them immensely! The great majority of Americans do not take even one hour, among the 168 hours each week, to go to church and thank God for His innumerable benefits! In Italy, less than 10% of the baptized Catholics go to the Holy Mass each Sunday to thank Him in the Holy Eucharist. Hopefully our own pain and grief caused by the insensitivity of others toward ourselves helps us a very tiny bit to grasp what sin is, which we do not seem to understand at all any more. Modern man is auto sufficient and does not need God, a superfluous Being who pretends to tell US to follow ALL of His inconvenient commandments! The meaning of “Michael”, in the great battle with “the dragon and his angels” in heaven, is “Who is like God?” (Rev 12:7; Dan 12:1)! Without humility there is NO VIRTUE! God is totally irrelevant in the lives of the great majority of modern men today who no longer want to “deny [themselves] and take up [their] cross daily” and follow Christ crucified (Lk 9:23).
As a Catholic, I hold to the words of Jesus Christ referring to all the living Popes of the Church that He founded, the Catholic Church: “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it” (Mt 16:18). If any supposedly “Catholic” publication (or “Catholic” University) does not submit to the Pope and the magisterium of the Catholic Church, what is the real reason they wish to continue to use the title of “Catholic”? At least twenty five percent of the voters in the USA are Catholic. Have some of the so-called “Catholic” publishers and writers (and Universities) put themselves above the Church that Christ left us with the Pope as the head? Do they feel that they are above everyone and are more “wise” than anyone else on the face of the earth and do not need to submit to anyone or to any Church, even to the Church that they proclaim to represent? Christ knew how much confusion there would be in the world even in regards to interpreting Sacred Scripture; is this not why He left us the “ROCK”? Another important issue for the elections of 2008, which would take up too much space for this article to go into detail, is that of helping and supporting the most precious and fundamental cells of every human society, THE FAMILIES! Which candidate recognizes marriage as a unique institution between a man and a woman as God intended? Which candidate is in favor (or against) Proposition 8 in California? Let’s Get Out The VOTES!
I believe that a great number of us American citizens believe as the vast majority of our founding fathers believed; we believe in God, who loves all of His creatures, and we want that members of our government to be also people who believe in God and try to do what God wants because we trust God more than ourselves. Does God not want only our love for Him and our love for each neighbor which God created, behind whom Jesus hides ("You did it to ME"!; Mt 25:40)? Thus it is very important to help, in any way, to encourage and bring our friends and acquaintances, who believe as we do, to the polling booths. Perhaps we could even take off work on the day of elections to offer this service. In past elections there has been a rather high amount of voter apathy.
If a candidate does not respect LIFE in all sectors of life, will he respect life in other sectors of life when things change, including our own personal sector of life? What is the fundamental PRINCIPLE that we hope our government leaders will have so that later on we too will not be abandoned or rejected by our country and by our government when we are no longer autonomous and when many of us become a burden to the younger, viable tax payers? Some people accuse those who support “pro-life” as supporting life only until birth. But can the various pro-life issues be separated? What issues in our society do not touch on the sacredness of life or on the lack of the sacredness of life? Is not life the most important and fundamental gift we have from God and thus the most important “treasure” for the government to uphold and to protect? If a candidate is a known terrorist, even though he talks a good talk about many other issues, would anyone vote for him? The Truth Shall Set You Free! (Jn 8:32)
As Christians (myself as a Catholic), what is important in the upcoming elections? What are the priorities involved? Both candidates say they are Christian. Both candidates say they promote a “Culture of Life”! Obviously no candidate has ever been perfect. The only perfect man who ever walked the face of the earth was crucified by all of us sinners 2000 years ago. So how can we discern properly in this complicated, confusing and critical point, in the history of our country?
One of the presidential candidates and his followers say they promote a culture of life by helping the poor which will help, as they say, to diminish abortions. At the same time their presidential candidate says that before all other problems to tackle: "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the “Freedom of Choice Act”. That's the first thing that I'd do." -- Senator Barack Obama, speaking to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, July 17, 2007 (http://www.nrlc.org/foca/index.html).
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council explains: "If FOCA were to become law it would overturn hundreds of state laws that have put limits on abortion.". Perkins points to a new research paper written by FRC Vice President of Government Affairs, Tom McClusky, and he said Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other pro-abortion groups agree with this assessment. The ACLU has said, "This [FOCA] bill prohibits such restrictions as parental notification and consent, as well as the requirement that all abortions be performed in a hospital, spousal consent, waiting periods, etc" (http://www.lifenews.com/nat4070.html).
What is really going on here? They say that by allowing abortion, without any restrictions, we will help the poor so that the number of abortions will decrease!?*!? I do not quite understand the logic here! Is this the way to help the poorest of the poor who do not have any way to defend themselves? Does not Sacred Scripture tell us that the strong should use their strength to help the weak? Does the taking of innocent lives justify helping other people to overcome poverty? Is this the way God would do it or want it? “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Mt 25:40)!
The Catholic Church has always taught that the “ends” do not justify the “means”. In other words, one cannot justify or rationalize committing a sin in order to arrive at a “good end” or a “greater good”. This would be the same as telling God to BUTT OUT while we commit a horrendous crime so that we can achieve a greater good, according to our “wise” human criteria and judgment, as if God is not able to bring about good without our sin! “I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes” (Mt 11:25).
The other candidate is certainly not perfect. I too am very saddened and appalled at the greater and greater apathy and disregard by the better-off citizens of the richer countries of the world toward the poor and those most in need of our help and assistance. I too am against the war in Iraq with all of its consequences. I too was in total agreement with Pope John Paul II when he urged and pleaded with President Bush to not begin the war in Iraq several years ago. But now that the war is already going on, would it be prudent to pull out the US troops before the Iraqi people can defend themselves considering the volatile state of the region with Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda in the neighborhood? Pope Benedict XVI as a Cardinal was a staunch critic of the U.S. led invasion of Iraq. On one occasion before the war, he was asked whether it would be just. "Certainly not," he said, and explained that the situation led him to conclude that "the damage would be greater than the values one hopes to save." At the present time, with the invasion already decided (since March 18, 2003), the soldiers in Iraq are trying to protect and defend innocent lives; abortion is directly taking the lives of innocent, defenseless, helpless unborn human beings!

There may be a legitimate diversity of opinion even among Catholics about waging war and applying the death penalty, but not however with regard to abortion and euthanasia." Someone wrote to me and told me that “the effects of the church’s narrow anti-abortion efforts” are hurting the pro-life cause and that “I happen to believe we need to come to people in love not with threats.” This person referred me to an article by the National Catholic Reporter: “Bishops narrow anti-abortion effort hurts pro-life cause”!!! But the 40 to 50 million babies that we have slaughtered in the USA since 1973, do we come to them “IN LOVE”??? Do the ends justify the means as the above article indicates??? Are there no "hierarchy of values"??? Has “ABORTION” become only something “political” or something without any reference to what abortion actually is? Have we become so callused and cold in spirit and estranged from reality and LIFE that it is OK to kill millions of babies for the “pro-life cause”!?*!? What kind of “strong delusion” is this so that they “believe what is false” (2Thess 2:11)?
Do we want to hear only what we want to hear, and what we decide to hear and believe, without any reference to the whole of Scripture and to our guide to interpret Scripture properly, the Church that Christ left us with the “Rock” as the head? The words of Jesus in the Gospels are very strong if we read them as they are written without picking and choosing only the verses that we like and that are comfortable to us! Do we want only a God who is all loving and merciful without considering His Infinite Justice? Do we want love for ourselves and our loved ones while forgetting the weakest in our society that are more than ever, in our modern affluent society, considered a “burden” to avoid or to eliminate, instead of considering them as a GIFT, a REAL PRESENCE of Jesus Himself? We say God is merciful but do we even go to confession to ask for His mercy? “Ask and you shall receive”, but if we do not ask…? God is totally, and eternally, respectful of our fundamental God-given gift of our free will; we were created in His image (Gen 1:26)! If we do not ask for mercy, we will not receive mercy! And without mercy, there is no way to arrive to heaven for all eternity! Have we forgotten that all that we have, including our very existence, friends, family, intelligence, capability to have relationships, a beautiful day, even a good thought … all come from a God who loves each of us immensely to the point of sending His only Son to die on the cross for our manifold and blind and presumptuous egoism? Imagine how much pain and sorrow there would be if a person that you loved deeply and to whom you did everything possible for, and then this person decided to totally ignore and disregard you and even despise you! Do we think that we are able to fathom how much Jesus suffered on the cross, crucified and forsakened and infinitely sensitive, due to the indifference of innumerable men and women, in all times and places, who do (and did) not want anything to do with their Creator who loves each of them immensely! The great majority of Americans do not take even one hour, among the 168 hours each week, to go to church and thank God for His innumerable benefits! In Italy, less than 10% of the baptized Catholics go to the Holy Mass each Sunday to thank Him in the Holy Eucharist. Hopefully our own pain and grief caused by the insensitivity of others toward ourselves helps us a very tiny bit to grasp what sin is, which we do not seem to understand at all any more. Modern man is auto sufficient and does not need God, a superfluous Being who pretends to tell US to follow ALL of His inconvenient commandments! The meaning of “Michael”, in the great battle with “the dragon and his angels” in heaven, is “Who is like God?” (Rev 12:7; Dan 12:1)! Without humility there is NO VIRTUE! God is totally irrelevant in the lives of the great majority of modern men today who no longer want to “deny [themselves] and take up [their] cross daily” and follow Christ crucified (Lk 9:23).
As a Catholic, I hold to the words of Jesus Christ referring to all the living Popes of the Church that He founded, the Catholic Church: “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it” (Mt 16:18). If any supposedly “Catholic” publication (or “Catholic” University) does not submit to the Pope and the magisterium of the Catholic Church, what is the real reason they wish to continue to use the title of “Catholic”? At least twenty five percent of the voters in the USA are Catholic. Have some of the so-called “Catholic” publishers and writers (and Universities) put themselves above the Church that Christ left us with the Pope as the head? Do they feel that they are above everyone and are more “wise” than anyone else on the face of the earth and do not need to submit to anyone or to any Church, even to the Church that they proclaim to represent? Christ knew how much confusion there would be in the world even in regards to interpreting Sacred Scripture; is this not why He left us the “ROCK”?
